Terms and Conditions
Required Vaccinations
Dogs → Current on the Distemper-Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, Parvo, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations with a negative fecal test result within 6 months.
If your pet has never had the Bordetella Vaccine It will need to be fully updated 2 weeks before your pet is to board with us, otherwise we will not be able to board your pet. This process takes a minimum of 28 days. If the dog's Bordetella Vaccine is overdue longer than 30 days but less than 18 months, it must be updated a full 2 weeks prior to boarding. We require Bordetella vaccines that are overdue, but less than 30 days, to be updated anytime prior to or during the stay.
We also require proof that flea prevention has been applied. If not, Frontline will be applied at the owner’s expense.
Cats →Current on The Calicivirus, Rhinotracheitis, and Panleukopenia, and Rabies vaccinations and have a negative fecal test result within 6 months. (If your cat is Feline Leukemia or Feline AIDs positive please let an assistant know so that we can take the right precautions). We also require proof that flea prevention has been applied. If not, Frontline will be applied at the owner’s expense.
Stool (fecal) Samples
To ensure that all of our boarding pets are safe from intestinal parasites we request proof of a negative stool sample. A negative stool sample needs to be submitted within 6 months prior to a scheduled stay and a stool sample should preferably be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your boarding reservation, in case of a positive result and requiring medication.
If a stool sample is not brought in at least 2 weeks prior to the scheduled visit additional charges may be assessed for animals with positive stool samples.
Dog Baths
The Bed and Biscuit does offer dog baths for your pet during their stay. We want to make the bathing experience as stress free as possible so if for any reason while we are giving a bath it becomes too hazardous for your pet or our staff The Bed and Biscuit will cease bathing your pet to limit any chance of injury or undue stress. So please, if your pet does not do well with baths please let an assistant know. That way we can take the right precautions if we have to and we will evaluate each pet on an individual basis.
Wellness checks
When your pet first arrives, The Bed and Biscuit will perform an entrance exam of your pet for any conditions that may need to be taken care of while they are staying with us. Any other abnormal findings will result in every attempt made to contact and discuss treatment options with you.
Personal Items
Here at The Bed and Biscuit we recommend that you do not bring in personal items in for your pet due to the possibility of them getting lost or damaged during your pets stay. If you choose to bring in any personal items The Bed and Biscuit will not be held liable for any lost or damaged items.
Foods from home
The Bed and Biscuit does offer Science Diet Sensitive Systems dry for dogs and science diet sensitive systems dry for cats that are boarding with us, but if you would like to bring in your pets normal food please bring it in a sealed container marked with your name and your pets name and any feeding instructions with enough food to get the pet though its entire stay.
Flea Prevention
Upon arrival your pet will be assessed for fleas. Proof of flea prevention must be provided when your pet is checked into the Bed and Biscuit. If fleas are found upon assessment the Bed and Biscuit team will apply a dose of flea prevention (Frontline Gold) at your expense.
